Band & Group Ensemble Program​

  • Days: Monday & Wednesday

  • Dates: June 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24

  • Ho’ike: June 27 and June 28 at Paliku Theatre

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Instructor: Kala’e Parish

  • Tuition: $275 for the 4-week program

  • Age / Level Requirement: Must be 10-19 years old with the ability to play an instrument or sing

This program is designed for intermediate to advanced level music students who are passionate about taking their musical skills to the next level. Open to those who can play an instrument or sing, the camp focuses on enhancing students’ abilities to perform together as a cohesive band.Throughout the program, 16 students will be divided into four groups, each tasked with preparing a 15-minute set. These groups will have the exciting opportunity to perform as the opening bands at our upcoming ho’ike on June 28 and June 29. In addition to their music, each band will develop transitional scripts to connect their performances seamlessly.

Back to Basics Summer Program​

  • Days: Tuesday & Thursday

  • Dates: June 2,  4,  9,  11,  16,  18,  23,  25

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Instructor: Kalena Parish

  • Tuition: $300 for the 4-week program

  • Age / Level Requirement: 5-12 years old / Beginner / No prior knowledge needed

Join us at the Kapena School of Music for an exciting summer program! Get ready to groove, jam, and make some incredible music with our talented instructors. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate learner, this program is perfect for you. Immerse yourself in a fun and supportive environment where you can learn to play various instruments, improve your singing skills. Making music fun with an emphasis on voice, ‘ukulele and piano while exploring music theory, guitar, drums and more.
